Go Guests? Walks and Demo tables in Sabino Canyon.
And a request for help with Giant Reed removal from Jim Washburne:
Happy New Year! I am sure you are all enjoying the fruits of our labor and
the almost total eradication of Arundo within Sabino Recreation area. The Forest
Service continues to help clean up the occasional re-sprout and I make a pass
through every 6 mo.
Work continues downstream. The main focus of the next 4-5 months will be a parcel of Pima County land along Lower Bear Creek. Our access is through private land so if interested in helping, please contact me so we can lead you in. In general, we welcome help every Saturday morning from 7:30 to 11:30-12. Please contact me if you would like to help (jwash at hwr dot arizona dot edu 260-2228 - do the necessary replacements on his email address - 260-2228). We have LOTS more cane to cut!
Finally, as you plan your trips for 2014, you might want to visit Lyn Hart in September, when she'll be artist in residence at Zion.
